Data Design Interactive is the company that made Lego Rock Raiders in 1999. 8 of those are broken/unable to start and needs special repair and recovery services. Obscure Gamers recently acquired 22 hard drives that used to belong to the developers of Data Design Interactive. However, to fully look through the drives, some of the drives need repairs, more specifically funding for those repairs. Some previews have been posted to the Rock Raiders United Discord server (examples below). There have been hundreds of beta files, prototype images and design documents recovered the last few days and they'll be posted publicly in the coming weeks. I won't downplay this: This is the single largest event to ever happen in Rock Raiders' history ever with regards to new and prototype content. Hey all, Baraklava here from Rock Raiders United and Manic Miners, in equal measure today.ĭuring the last few days, something big has unfolded, mostly on Rock Raiders United's Discord server. Let's hope all the drives can be repaired with this money! Also: Some drives initially split in the acquisition have been re-acquired, so more will come soon! Update September 2020: Fundraiser done! You guys are insane :D The available content will be dropped on Obscure Gamers' website. The broken drives are still not repaired because of the high cost of repairing hard drives, so either another way too expensive fundraiser would have to be started, or Obscure gamers would like to go with cheaper alternatives (such as simply swapping the data disks to another working drive from the save era). There were a few things found in some email backups, including a never-before-seen "vehicle": The Robo-suit. Status update January 2021: The initial working drives have been emptied and are still going through slow organization, but we have a good idea of what they contained.
